While perusing through this week’s #ScreenshotSaturday postings, I came across Ooblets, and just like that, I became obsessed with this upcoming game.
Currently in development by a team of three people, Ooblets is shaping up to be one of the most-talked about indie game releases of the year. I just have a good feeling about this game; the same feeling I had the first time I saw Chasm, and Stardew Valley. A strong following has already sprung up around Ooblets, strong enough that the dev team started making fanart submission posts on the game’s website.
From what I’ve gathered about the game through the few details available about it, players travel around little hub-regions and battle/collect/grow Ooblets. The developers are still putting together the core mechanics, so things are likely to change before the game is released. The game’s name was recently changed from Moblets to Ooblets, for example.
Right now the developers are hoping to have “something out” by the end of 2017. Ooblets is currently in development for PC. Expect to see plenty more about Ooblets on Epic Brew.
