On August 15, Unfold Games’ s puzzle platformer DARQ releases for PC. A new gameplay trailer shows off the game’s puzzle mechanics and how players will need to bend the laws of physics to solve DARQ’s puzzles.
According to the developer, DARQ is set to release as a $19.99, PC-only game. Although a console release wasn’t ruled out when the developer was asked about it on the game’s Steam page.
“The scope of DARQ is comparable to Inside, Little Nightmares, etc. It’s probably a bit longer. We’ve seen very different playthrough times, it largely depends on how good someone is with solving puzzles,” Unfold Games explained.
DARQ puts players in control of Lloyd, an unlucky man who becomes trapped in his own nightmare. From the gameplay trailer it looks like Lloyd will have to deal with different monstrosities using his ability to manipulate the environment and likely a bit of pure luck.
“The game is designed to be a moving artistic experience. Elegance is the key word in DARQ’s art direction – it serves as a means of seduction, or an invitation for the player to step in and develop and emotional connection with the experience as they progress. The goal is to make the player like being there, even though being there involves facing their fears.”
