Defiant Development, the team behind Hand of Fate 2 (which I really liked) just revealed some new content that will likely interest fans of the game, as well as players who tried the game but found the combat lacking.
There are a lot of layers to this content release, so I’m going to break it down, piece by piece.
The newest Hand of Fate 2 content is called “The Servent and the Beast.” This DLC is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux. Nintendo Switch players can look forward to this update, and all further updates in an upcoming content update — no release date was mentioned. In The Servent and the Beast, player will acquire a new companion who Defiant Development teases as having “dark and terrible powers.” Alongside the companion, players can undertake a new story line where a mysterious being has freed the player from deadly fighting pits. In return for rescuing the player, the being wants blood. So do your best to make sure it’s not yours that is spilled.
The “Combat Reforged” update is also making its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players (though the update has been out for PC/Mac/Linux players already). With this update Defiant Development took player feedback into consideration and overhauled the game’s combat system. This free update re-balances enemies and equipment, and other improvements that the developers are sure to positively impact the core combat experience.
Alongside The Servent and the Beast and Combat Reforged is the “Outlands and Outsiders” expansion that is also arriving to Xbox One and Playstation 4 with the aforementioned update. Outlands and Outsiders has been out on PC/Mac/Linux for a bit. This expansion adds in a new goblin companion, and a new story line that players can initiate. The goblin’s name is Hubie and he’s an orphan who believes the world is about to end. What could go wrong?
Hand of Fate 2 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and for PC/Mac/Linux on Steam.
