Mortal Kombat: Legacy Director to Reboot MK Film Franchise

The popular Mortal Kombat web series, Legacy, did well enough online to cajole New Line into giving Legacy‘s director Ken Tancharoen the go-ahead with directing a feature-length film, which will reboot the Mortal Kombat franchise for this generation. Details about the script for the new Mortal Kombat film are being tightly guarded, but if it is anything like the Legacy series, or the Rebirth short film Tancharoen gave us, it is something to look forward to. Watch all of the […]

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 1 Finale

The season finale of Kevin Tanchareon’s Mortal Kombat web series debuted this weekend at Comic-Con. The final episode (the 9th in the series thus far,) was released yesterday on YouTube, coming nearly two months after the previous episode, a strange delay considering the series was getting a new episode on a weekly basis up until episode 9. The season finale was not a 30-minute long spectacular, nor was it any different from previous episodes, it was just another origin story. […]

Mortal Kombat: Legacy episodes 7 & 8

So I decided to combine this weeks Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode with last weeks since they are one continuous story. The anticipated Scorpion/Sub-Zero origin story. Weren’t expecting that at the end, were you? Me either, I loved what they did with that. I also really dug the music in these two episodes, really the first time I noticed the music in the Legacy series. Overall, Legacy picked up its momentum with the Raiden episode (ep6) and went running with it […]

Mortal Kombat Legacy episode 6

As much grumbling and mumbling that I have done in weeks past over Legacy losing momentum, that all changed with this episode. Episode 6 focuses on Raiden’s tale, about how he was found, captured, and escaped. Easily the best episode thus far. New Patch and DLC for Mortal Kombat on the Way!

NetherRealm Studios has heard the voices of their Kombatants and are going to release a new patch and some downloadable content that is going to hopefully going to “nerf”  few characters. For one, Scorpion, Cyrax and Shang Tsung are just a few fighters that will hopefully be balanced out by the patch. There is also going to be some new download content in the form of “free goodies” that is going to be accessible when the patch drops. Maybe NetherRealm […]

Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode 5

The second part of the Kitana and Mileena story arc. This episode was boring. Plain and simple. I found the best part of the episode to be the animations, just for their visual appeal. Speaking of which, I would say a good half of the episode, if not more, was animated. Which really reinforces what I brought up last week after watching episode 4: they over estimated the budget and had to cut back. Personally, I would have rather the […]

Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode 4

It appears the entire episode 4 was long enough to be split into parts, so this week we get the first part of the Kitana and Mileena origin story. What threw me off with this episode was how it shifted from stylized cartoons to live action. I understand the cartoonized portions help to make it feel more like a story-book legend, but still, I can’t help but feel like the first two episodes set a higher standard and they overestimated […]
