Yesterday the world got its first look at Fallout 4 when Bethesda Softworks revealed the game’s first official trailer.
The Fallout 4 official trailer comes just under two weeks before Bethesda’s E3 showcase, which is set for Sunday June 14th at 7pm PT, viewable on both YouTube and Twitch, or in person…if you’re lucky enough to be there.
Drab, post-apocalyptic games never really appealed to me. I’ve played both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas and I can see why people like them, but I’d rather spend my time in the gorgeous world of Skyrim then hoofing through deserts or digging through heaps of rusty metal. The Last of Us worked well for me because while it did feature a fair share of broken buildings, there was a lot of nice nature-is-reclaiming-the-land going on, which gave me some nice varied landscapes to venture through.
War…war never changes. BUT THESE GRAPHICS SURE DO!
Even though I’ve only seen about three minutes of Fallout 4 in action, I’m already liking what I’ve seen. The land doesn’t seem as decimated or empty as it was in the previous two Fallout titles, which is enough to capture my interest. As the camera panned around the abandoned neighborhoods and various locals, I had the urge to want to explore everywhere to see what was there for me to find.
Which is leagues more than my times in Fallout 3 and New Vegas gave to me. I played them for about an hour each and I never cared enough to want to see more.
I’m hoping Fallout 4 changes that when it releases…whenever that may be.
In the meantime, check out the game’s official website.
