7 Minutes of Terror: A Look at the “Curiosity” Landing
I heard a good analogy recently, about the Curiosity landing, it was something like: Landing that thing on Mars, is like shooting a bullet from a fast-moving car, at another fast moving car traveling in another direction, and shooting the fly off the car, without damaging any paint.
I know that this subject is a little off-beat from the usual topics I post about…but I am just astonished by the creativity and ingenuity that went into the EDL (Entry Descent Landing) process.
This short film describes, in a very easy-to-watch way, just how much planning went into the Curiosity landing.
