The Mass Effect series is known for putting tough, game-changing, choices in your hands. The decisions you made in Mass Effect 1, echoed back in Mass Effect 2. The choices you made in both Mass Effect 1 and through Mass Effect 2, determined how many, if any, of your crew members survived through the end of the second game. There was even the potential that your main character, Commander Shepard, could die.
In an interview between NowGamer and Bioware’s Mike Gamble, Gamble revealed that all the choices you make up until the last moment in Mass Effect 3, will determine not just the fate of you and your crew, but the fate of the entire galaxy. It won’t just be, “Ahh, you lost. Try Again.” but, “Ahh, you lost. The End.”
The interview goes on to discuss some of the game mechanic changes that have evolved between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, as well as if it is possible for players who have not played any of the preview two Mass Effect games, to understand what is going on and enjoy the final chapter in this trilogy.
Mass Effect 3 is under development by Bioware, being published by Electronic Arts, and has a release date of March 6th, 2012 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Windows.
