Just a day after recording episode 5 of The Epic Brew Show, in which we discuss 2009’s Borderlands, Gearbox and 2K Games announce that Borderlands 2 not only is in development, but has the potential to be out by next spring.
Randy Pitchford, the CEO of Gearbox, had made an earlier comment in an interview with Eurogamer, “…we’ve only announced what we’ve announced. If we haven’t announced it, it doesn’t exist.”
Pitchford went on to say that everyone at Gearbox loves Borderlands, they are all thrilled by the positive reception it has attained, and the fact that it has sold over 4 million units. Speculating about the possibility of a Borderlands 2, Pitchford said that gamers could expect the same level of post-release content that was given to Borderlands.
Hours later, Borderlands 2 was announced.
What we know so far about Borderlands 2:
– Will feature same stylized graphics as the original
– Pandora will be the setting of the game, again
– Players can expect new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons, and equipment
– Will be seen at Gamescon and Pax later this month
