The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore will blow your mind.
William Joyce, who has done work for Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks, has created an ebook for kids that is both a classical children’s story and a highly interactive medium that could change the way kids perceive reading.
With a team from Moonbot Studios, Joyce adapted an animated short film into an interactive strory, presentable on Ipads, with other devices I’m sure to come.
The book-app, as it’s being called, invites kids to explore. There is something interactive on every page. However, the book-app never forces the kids to find the interactive bits, so as to never frustrate the young reader. In designing the app that way, Joyce wanted to encourage the children to explore, to find the interactivity, if they wanted to.
