Ubisoft’s movie branch has revealed to all their antsy fans that they are in fact working on creating three movies based on their more popular franchises.
Ubisoft is not completely new to making films based on their video games, as they have made a few short films to hype up the release of Assassin’s Creed 2 and the future release of Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
Scripts for these movies are due in at the end of the year, so we’ll have to wait a bit to find out which script gets the green-light first. Though, I assume all will be approved eventually. If the semi-faithful Prince of Persia can bring home $335 million…imagine what a good faithful adaptation would reel in.
Below is the Assassin’s Creed: Lineage short film. Three episodes compacted together into one cohesive 35-minute movie. The episodes debuted in 2009 and marked Ubisoft’s first steps into the film industry. Lineage is a prequel to Assassin’s Creed II.
