Lord of the Rings Extended Editions to Return to Theaters This Summer

Starting June 14th the Lord of the Rings film trilogy will be returning to theaters for a brief time.

June 14 for the Fellowship, June 21st for the Two Towers, and June 28th for the Return of the King.

All three films will be featured in their extended forms, adding significant time to each movie…so plan for potty breaks accordingly.

If you have not seen the extended editions I highly recommend you make the trek to the theaters this summer, unless you feel like shelling out $85 for the Trilogy on Blu-Ray or searching for a fresh copy of the DVDs on Amazon.

Apparently pre-screenings, Peter Jackson will give audiences a preview of The Hobbit…most likely different from the preview we were given a few weeks ago.

This is one of my favorite scenes that was deleted. When the Mouth of Sauron brings the Fellowship Frodo’s mithril shirt. In the regular cut, you see Aragorn leading this little band of troops into battle in the hopes that Frodo is still alive..but with this cut, you realize that they thought Frodo was dead, and lead on the attack in his memory, making the “For Frodo” scene that takes place later on, that much more powerful.
