Arkham City takes place almost a year and a half after the events in Arkham Asylum. The former asylum warden is now the mayor of Gotham and one of his first tasks was to convert Gotham’s worst slum into a “city” for the inmates that can no longer be housed at the asylum or prison. Quarantined in “Arkham City” the inmates are kept locked down by a third party security force with the sinister Dr. Hugo Strange placed in care of the inmates psychological well being.
